A couple of days ago we announced some news that filled us with proudness: Jung Hun Lee, president of Glommnet, the worldwide network of musical markets with headquarters in Seoul, South Korea, announced the decision of the organization to give the first Glommnet price to a career in the cultural management field associated to music to Octavio Arbeláez Tobón, director and founder of Circulart.

The past Saturday 12th of may, during the Seoul Music Week, Hung Lee himself, gave this recognition that highlights Octavio´s work for decades around the cultural development of Ibero-America

The Seoul Music Week gathers each year, in a business and multicultural environment, agents of the music industry from all over the world. It´s one of the most important world music festivals in Asia, where musical groups from all five continents meet with hundreds of spectators in the Sejong Center, the biggest cultural space in the city,

Mr Edwin Roa, first secretary of the Colombian embassy in South Korea, was also present in the ceremony of the award. About this mention our director affirmed “The award is a recognition to Circulart and to the process that it´s had in consolidating Medellin as the city of music and main character in the Latin American scene of the emerging industry of this sector”.

Amongst his most outstanding accomplishments is the creation and leadership of Circulart, the Market for performing arts of the south Atlantic in Tenerife (Spain) – MAPAS and the projection of iconic cultural events as artistic director, like the International Theater Festival of Manizales (The oldest in Latin América) and the International Festival of the Arts in Costa Rica.
